Eczema in children - The Julius Roth Foundation

Julius Roth Foundation

Case studies

Baby Peter

Baby Peter was 5 months old when his case was referred to the Foundation.  His mother takes up the story.

"I was desperate, Peter didn't sleep, he scratched - nothing helped.  The creams we applied seemed to make him worse and he was on antibiotics because his skin was infected.

When my doctor recommended the Julius Roth Therapy Programme, I was a bit sceptical at first but a friend also recommended them.

The improvement was beyond belief, I can't thank the Julius Roth Foundation enough for what they've done.  He doesn't scratch and sleeps at night, life is wonderful."

Before Before After

Child G

Child 'G' was referred to the Foundation, when he was seven years old, by his doctor. The boy had suffered from atopic eczema from the age of 13 months.

The child's family lived some distance away so we treated him by 'Distance Therapy', that is to say, without actually seeing him.

We ask all parents to complete a 'Diagnostic and Therapy Chart', this gives us a history of the child's condition and other valuable information. In this document the boy's mother informed us that steroid creams had only partially controlled the eczema which now covered large areas of his body. In a telephone conversation with us, his mother described the boy's life as 'hell'. He had to be carried from room to room as it was too painful for him to walk. His bed sheets were often bloodied. She also expressed concern at the possible effects of steroids used on a long-term basis.

After studying the completed 'Diagnostic and Therapy Chart' we sent several preparations for 'patch-testing. These substances are actually some of the active ingredients we may use in therapy and we need to check for possible allergic response. When the mother returned the completed 'patch-test' form, we then formulated a therapy bath additive and therapy cream, with clear instructions as to how to use them.

After 60 days of therapy the mother contacted the Foundation enclosing photographs of her son's skin both before and after the therapy.

The improvement is significant with only a little redness remaining at the wrists and ankles. At this stage, intensive therapy was reduced, gradually. The boy has now been free of eczema for 24 months. In general, the Foundation's success rate is high where parents adhere to our protocol and co-operate in the control of allergens.
